Mountain West – Missouri Valley Challenge

The Mountain West – Missouri Valley Challenge is an in-season NCAA college basketball series, matching up teams from the Mountain West Conference and the Missouri Valley Conference. The series began in November 2009 and features all of the MWC teams against most of the MVC teams.[1]

The two conferences have agreed to a four year deal, extending the challenge through at least 2012.[2]

The MVC-MWC Challenge Series will occur from late November through December. The games will be hosted by each of the schools. The first two series had nine games will be played each year, leaving one team from the 10-team Missouri Valley Conference without an opponent. In 2011, only eight games were played, leaving two teams from the Missouri Valley Conference without an opponent.
